Aim of the Velux Stiftung

The Foundation's aim is that of a non-profit organisation for the

1. Support of Research
- in the area of daylight technology and with regard to the meaning of daylight for humans and nature,
- in biological and medical areas, in particular gerontology, geriatrics and ophthalmology, including the basic principles relevant to these areas,
whereby the support can occur through the promotion of specific projects and through the allocation of financial grants, awards and prizes.

2. Preservation and development of the ecological stability of nature, among other things through contributions to research and through support of projects in ecological areas, for example forestry and arboriculture.

3. Knowledge transfer within the framework of all areas of scope of the Foundation, including through the development of information and education.

The area of activity of the Foundation covers the whole world, but concentrates mainly on Europe, in particular Switzerland.
